Job summary

TealEnergi is seeking a Senior Cost Engineer to support a major offshore capital project in the execution phase. The role focuses on cost control, forecasting, and budgets, with a 9/80 schedule and every other Friday off. Initial contract is 6–12 months with potential extension, and remote work on Fridays.

The candidate will develop forecasts, monitor costs vs budgets, and prepare cost reports for leadership. Offshore experience and strong Excel/EcoSys skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in cost engineering and/or cost control within major capital projects.
• Offshore project experience strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting major capital projects during the execution phase.
• Strong knowledge of project cost management, forecasting, budgeting, accruals, commitments, variance analysis, cost reporting, and estimate-at-completion projections.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large volumes of project and cost data.
• Advanced Excel and project reporting skills.
• Experience with EcoSys preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support cost engineering and cost control activities throughout the execution of a major offshore capital project.
• Develop and maintain project cost forecasts, budgets, commitments, expenditures, and estimate-at-completion projections.
• Monitor actual costs against approved budgets and forecasts to maintain accurate cost projections.
• Perform detailed cost analysis to identify trends, variances, risks, and potential impacts to the project forecast.
• Support regular project cost reporting and provide clear, data-driven insights to project leadership.
• Assist with project change management and evaluate the cost impact of proposed and approved changes.
• Support contractor and vendor cost tracking as required.
• Collaborate with project controls, engineering, procurement, construction, and project management teams to maintain aligned cost information.
• Translate detailed project cost information into meaningful insights for decision-making.
