Job summary

State of Washington, Washington State Department of Labor & Industries/DOSH, is seeking a Compliance Industrial Safety & Health Investigator 3 (CISHI3). You will conduct safety and health investigations across private and public sectors and support complex cases.

This role offers extensive in-training, field mentorship, and opportunities to advance toward independent investigations. Bilingualism optional with a 5% pay increase; a flexible schedule and occasional telework are available.

Qualifications

• Five years’ experience in DOSH CISHI or equivalent safety/industrial hygiene role.
• Valid, unrestricted driver's license.
• Ability to travel to worksites and operate a state vehicle.
• Bilingual ability preferred; 5% salary increase for dual language responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety and health investigations across private and public sectors, including complex cases.
• Complete inspections and investigation reports with proper classification of violations and penalties.
• Collaborate with DOSH leadership and other regulatory agencies to ensure statewide enforcement consistency.
• Provide technical guidance on challenging cases and drive improvements in safety programs.
• Travel between worksites to perform duties using a state vehicle or POV with mileage reimbursement.
• Prepare and present findings to employers, workers, and management.
