Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer focused on Observability to partner with product, SRE, and operations teams. You will define dashboards, SLIs/SLOs, and telemetry standards to improve availability, latency, and customer impact across critical journeys.

You will lead governance, mentor engineers, and drive continuous improvement in monitoring and incident response, ensuring production-readiness and measurable reliability outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Six to eight years of relevant work experience in IT/service management, production support, or software development.
• Expertise in observability engineering, SRE, or reliability engineering.
• Strong knowledge of SLIs, SLOs, and customer journey monitoring.
• Proficiency with leading observability tools and dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the definition, documentation, and implementation of Observability across critical customer journeys.
• Design, implement, and govern SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and reliability metrics.
• Establish observability governance for dashboards, alerts, and telemetry standards.
• Translate requirements into scalable observability architectures and tagging frameworks.
• Provide technical leadership on tracing, logging, metrics, and alert governance.
