Job summary

Blue Ridge Senior Living is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the Nursing Department, ensuring high-quality resident care in accordance with state and federal guidelines. The DON will organize and direct clinical operations, supervise nursing staff, and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations.

The role requires a RN license, a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and at least 5 years in long-term care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; minimum 5 years of long-term care experience preferred.
• Must be licensed in the applicable state as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Experience managing staff in long-term care or assisted living settings.

Responsibilities

• Defines and maintains nursing practice standards.
• Evaluates staffing quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Develops and enforces nursing policies and procedures.
• Oversees provision of medications and care plans.
• Supervises nursing staff including hiring and evaluations.
• Develops in-service education and staff schedules.
• Maintains accurate reports and records.
