Job summary

AttainX Inc. is seeking a Senior Nuclear Safety and Criticality Consultant to support the Department of Energy (DOE) at Hanford Field Office.

This telework-eligible position offers an hourly rate of $75.00–$100.00 and up to 1440 hours. Responsibilities include providing senior-level nuclear safety consulting for safety and quality in the NSD, with focus on Central Plateau, Tank Farms, DFLAW, and HLW facilities.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in engineering, science or related field.
• Experience in senior consulting on complex projects.
• Specialized knowledge of criticality safety and ANSI/ANS-8 standards.
• Ability to contribute to program and project management.

Responsibilities

• Provide mission-critical support at the Hanford Site with senior level nuclear safety consulting services.
• Perform criticality safety consulting for One Hanford Program needs.
• Provide reviews of contractor reports to One Hanford procedures and DOE-STD-3009/3007/1104 and 10 CFR 830.
• Provide periodic oversight of criticality related operations per One Hanford procedures.
• Assist in the preparation of safety evaluation reports and readiness/startup assessments.
• Assist review of Documented Safety Analysis (DSA) safety management programs.
• Deliverables shall be accomplished in accordance with One Hanford procedures.
• Ensure work complies with the QA Implementation Plan and procedures.

• Working level knowledge of DOE program and project management practices,
  policies and procedures
• Excellent communications skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Word, PowerPoint and/or other MS Office tools

Preferred Qualifications:

• Senior level knowledge of nuclear safety with more than 20 years of experience
• Expert level knowledge of criticality safety with more than 10 years of experience
• Working level knowledge of environmental, worker safety and health, quality assurance and related controls and requirements

Job Duties:

• Provide mission-critical support at the Hanford Site, providing senior level nuclear safety consulting services in the area of program and project management.
• Perform criticality safety consulting services related to One Hanford Program needs, focusing on special activities, identified problem areas and support any criticality safety related needs by direct observation and involvement in relevant activities as determined by the TM.
• Provide reviews of contractor reports and submittals to One Hanford procedures and DOE-STD-3009, DOE-STD-3007, DOE-STD-1104 and 10 CFR 830.
• Provide periodic oversight of criticality related operations conducted by One Hanford projects to One Hanford procedures and DOE-STD- 3009 and DOE-STD-3007, as appropriate.
• Assist in the preparation of safety evaluation reports, or other approval documentation, associated with the above related activities.
• Assist in performance of readiness and startup assessment activities.
• Assist review of Documented Safety Analysis (DSA) safety management programs and evaluation of support documents.
• Deliverables shall be accomplished in accordance with One Hanford procedures and directions provided by the TM.
• All work performed under this task order must be in compliance with the requirements
  set by the Quality Assurance Implementation Plan (DOE-PPD-QA-50552) and associated
  implementing procedures.
