Job summary

SHINE Technologies LLC in Wisconsin is seeking a Nuclear Safety Analysis Engineer to own the safety analysis for the UNF Recycling line, performing transient and accident analyses, dose calculations, and ISA activities to satisfy licensing and regulator requirements from design through operation.

This role requires strong judgment, the ability to defend assumptions, and collaboration with design and licensing teams.

Qualifications

Own safety analysis from method to regulator and defend it.
Demonstrated judgment on conservatism in analyses.
Ability to perform and check hand calculations from first principles.
Technical writing skills for regulator-friendly analyses.
Knowledge of 10 CFR 70/ Part 50 or DOE safety basis framework.
Ability to critically evaluate information and ask questions.
BS degree in Nuclear Engineering or related.
Five years of experience in nuclear safety analysis.

Responsibilities

Perform system analyses of transients and postulated accidents to demonstrate safety and licensing requirements are satisfied.
Perform nuclear dose calculations using MCNP and SCALE inputs.
Lead or support ISA activities including HAZOP, FMEA, PHA, and accident sequence development.
Review classifications and challenge unsupported safety justifications.
Own safety analysis documentation for the Pilot facility and related ISA summaries.
Contribute to licensing documents for NRC/DOE reviews and regulator questions.
