Job summary

Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) at the Nevada National Security Site seeks a Senior Nuclear Facility Operations Specialist to support DAF operations. The role requires collaboration with LLNL/LANL, strong safety knowledge, and clear communication in a busy, secure environment.

Qualified candidates will have a related bachelor’s degree, 5+ years of nuclear operations experience, familiarity with 10 CFR 830/835, and the ability to manage scheduling, procedures, and personnel

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent training plus 5 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of Nuclear Safety Management (10 CFR 830) and related regulations.
• Experience with nuclear material operations, facility operations, or radiological activities.
• Ability to read and follow detailed MSTS SOPs.
• Experience with planning and scheduling to deconflict workload.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Operational Interface duties with LLNL and LANL.
• Control DAF access and movement of personnel and MAR materials.
• Serve as Local Emergency Director for incidents.
• Participate in DAF procedural creation and reviews.
• Primary DAF contact for nuclear projects and Protective Force.
• Ensure daily readiness to support User project work.
• Maintain knowledge of DAF procedures and safety documents.
• Monitor safety system surveillances and maintenance.
• Mentor less experienced staff and conduct training.
