Job summary

VulcanForms, based in Massachusetts, seeks a Senior Product Development Engineer to define post‑processing steps for new products and scale robust processes from post‑print to finished parts. You will provide technical leadership to the Production Team and collaborate across functions to meet quality, cost, and capacity targets.

You will work with design, quality, and production to set takt time, throughput targets, and tooling needs, while coordinating with suppliers and leading documentation,

Qualifications

• : Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
• : 5+ years manufacturing engineering experience with focus on post-processing methods.
• : Hands-on experience in developing and scaling production processes.
• : Proficiency in process qualification tools and methods (PFMEA, DOE, IQ/OQ/PQ).
• : Strong cross-functional collaboration with suppliers, technicians, and internal teams.
• : Experience creating SOPs, work instructions, and validation plans.
• : Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Define and support post-processing steps for new product; turn designs into robust, scalable manufacturing processes.
• Oversee implementation of manufacturing processes with in-house technicians and external suppliers; manage machine setup and validation.
• Define functional requirements for tooling, fixturing, and post-processing equipment; lead automation opportunities and supplier integration.
• Write and maintain SOPs and process documentation to ensure repeatable, high-quality production.
• Lead IQ (Installation Qualifications) for equipment and support OQ/PQ to meet quality and regulatory standards.
• Engage in NPI processes to understand part requirements and contribute to DFM decisions; align with cost and scalability.
• Collaborate with product and manufacturing teams to define takt time, throughput, and resource needs.
