Job summary

Castelion is seeking a Senior Materials & Processes Engineer (Non-Metals) to lead technical authority for non-metallic materials. You will shape material selection, processing, qualification testing, and production-quality requirements in a high-volume manufacturing setting, including cost-effective supplier coordination and rigorous QA protocols.

Qualifications

• > Bachelor’s degree in materials science/engineering, polymer science, chemistry, or related discipline.
• > 5+ years of experience with non-metal materials (aerospace or automotive preferred).
• > Experience with material characterization techniques: mechanical testing, FTIR/Raman, SEM/EDS, OM, DSC, TGA, DMA, CTE, humidity/salt fog, UV exposure, and thermal aging/cycling.
• > Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• > Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and meet ITAR eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for non-metallics; guide material selection, processing conditions, qualification strategies, and production-quality requirements.
• Implement QA and qualification testing protocols to ensure material consistency and performance.
• Develop and maintain material specifications, process controls, and test plans.
• Support root-cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives related to non-metallic materials.
