Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in Albuquerque, NM is seeking an NNSA Defense Programs Engineer (Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer) to provide expert SE&I support for national security systems. This full‑time role is based onsite with travel and requires a Top Secret/TS clearance.

Senior level adds mentorship, leadership, and broader program integration responsibilities across Nuclear Security Enterprise missions, with collaboration across NASA, NOAA, and other agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related field required.
• Eight years of progressive systems engineering, acquisition program development, or technical operations experience.
• Active Top Secret or Q clearance and U.S. citizenship.
• Experience with NNSA Defense Programs missions or Nuclear Security Enterprise is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide SE&I support to NNSA weapons modernization programs through analyses and lifecycle reviews.
• Lead or participate in cross‑functional project teams and studies as needed.
• Apply SE principles across the nuclear weapons lifecycle, including requirements and risk management.
• Coordinate interfaces between customers and Aerospace staff to leverage capabilities.
• Demonstrate project management skills to plan, schedule, and deliver on time.
• Represent Aerospace to NNSA customers and build trusted relationships.
