Job summary

Pace® Life Sciences is hiring a Principal Scientist – NMR Spectroscopy in RTP, NC. The role leads biomolecular and small-molecule NMR characterization, provides expert guidance, and supports method development and GMP/GLP-aligned operations.

The position requires a Ph.D. (or equivalent experience) and 8–10 years in analytical chemistry, with expert NMR skills, leadership, and client-facing capabilities. Onsite, full-time role with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field preferred; MS/BS with extensive NMR experience may be considered.
• 8–10 years of analytical chemistry experience in CRO/pharma/regulatory lab.
• Expert-level NMR proficiency including biomolecular NMR with proteins/oligonucleotides.
• GMP/GLP laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead biomolecular NMR characterization of proteins and oligonucleotides in a CRO setting.
• Lead small-molecule NMR analysis to support identity and structure confirmation.
• Oversee NMR instrumentation, method development, troubleshooting, calibration, maintenance.
• Support client discussions and align analytical solutions with project goals.
• Mentor junior scientists and drive cross-functional scientific initiatives.
• Ensure data integrity, regulatory readiness, and CAPA-driven improvements.
