Job summary

Anduril Industries is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to design, improve, and maintain the core package set enabling software distribution across the company. You will create internal tooling, set standards, plan architectural changes, and support users of the package set. Expertise in Nix at scale and mentoring other engineers is expected.

You should autonomously tackle complex problems, break them down, and drive efficient delivery across development, hosted services, and embedded devices.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Nix, Nixpkgs, NixOS and functional programming.
• Deep understanding of how build systems and packaging ecosystems work.
• Ability to dive into large and complicated systems, and use Nix to improve them.
• Experience with Rust, C++, Go, Python, or Haskell.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an internal package set to enable software distribution company-wide.
• Package open-source and proprietary software components using Nix.
• Improve developer ergonomics by defining Nix usage standards and tooling.
• Provide assistance, training, and mentorship to other engineers.
