Job summary

MPF Federal, LLC seeks a contract Senior Laboratory Research Technician for NHRC in Point Loma, San Diego. You will perform end-to-end NGS assays, validate data, and ensure adherence to GCLP, CAP, FDA, and SOPs while maintaining meticulous records.

You will handle equipment maintenance, reagent inventories, SOP development, and mentor junior technologists in BSL-2 environments as part of clinical and surveillance research initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 5 years of laboratory experience.
• Experience with sequencing and traditional microbiology culture.
• Proven ability to work in CAP, FDA, and GCLP regulated environments.
• Strong documentation and data integrity practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform highly complex laboratory assays as the bench operator for NGS platforms.
• Validate assay data, run metrics, and control parameters to ensure quality.
• Record procedures, observations, and reagent lots in real time with GDP.
• Maintain equipment, manage inventories, and update SOPs for regulatory compliance.
• Serve as SME on clinical trials and research initiatives; mentor junior staff.
• Escalate and coordinate corrective actions for assay or instrument failures.
• Collaborate with R&D to onboard validated workflows and ensure compliance.
