Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Company LP in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced NGL Commercial Scheduler to optimize scheduling of NGLs by truck, rail, pipeline and waterborne movements. You will coordinate with traders, terminals and external partners to balance refinery demand and supply commitments.

The role requires strong organizational, collaborative and problem-solving skills, with exposure to USGC markets and cross-functional collaboration across Marketing, Trading and Operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or five (5) years of related experience in lieu.
• Four (4) or more years of industry-related experience required.
• Two (2) or more years of NGLs experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Nominates and schedules pipeline, waterborne, truck, rail and/or delivery movements through use of propriety and third-party scheduling systems.
• Monitors inventories and shipping schedules daily to ensure that supply meets demand.
• Communicates and verifies planned movements with all stakeholders, including traders, optimizers and external counterparties.
• Provides forward-looking inventory position information to Trading, Pricing, Marketing, Trucking and Supervision to develop inventory strategies.
• Responds to unexpected events with contingency arrangements to minimize disruption of supply.
• Identifies transportation efficiencies while minimizing per barrel transportation costs.
• Assists in initial training of new hires and mentors less experienced schedulers.
• Prepare daily status reports to communicate supply concerns to Trading/Marketing, refinery and frac operations personnel.
