Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics, or related discipline.
• 5 years of experience in neuroimaging with MRI and modalities such as functional MRI, diffusion imaging, MR brain morphometry, quantitative susceptibility mapping, susceptibility-weighted imaging, MR perfusion, or MR relaxometry.
• Strong programming skills and good knowledge of Python or Matlab.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage own work.
• A clear interest in collaborative, multidisciplinary teamwork.
• Highly-motivated, enthusiastic and detail-oriented.
• Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a section of neuroimaging operations including neuroimaging data acquisition, quality control, data transfer, processing, pipeline development, automation, documentation, and statistical analysis.
• Design, implement, evaluate automated systems for state-of-the-art medical imaging data processing and quality control.
• Responsible for hiring, onboarding, training, feedback, mentoring, and management of a team of engineers in the research imaging engineering group.
• Develop and implement novel image analysis techniques for in-vivo and ex-vivo multimodal brain MRI data (including, but not limited to, longitudinal analysis of brain MRI data, integration of functional and structural information, analysis of functional and structural brain networks, development of MR-based biomarkers).
• Apply advanced image analysis techniques on brain MRI data from a large aging cohort, and combine MRI data with a plethora of available risk factor, clinical, and post-mortem data.
• Apply advanced imaging, statistics, and informatics methodology in all aspects of work.
• Oversee, develop and maintain quality control procedures and documentation.
• Work closely with physicists, engineers, neurologists, neuropsychologists, neuropathologists, biostatisticians, computational neuroscientists on imaging projects on aging.
• Collaborate with principal investigators on study design.
• Plan meetings (such as investigator meetings and other scientific/operational meetings).
• Participate in meetings with principal investigators and research staff and evaluate/interpret data, methodologies, and procedures.
• Prepare abstracts, manuscripts, presentations based on experimental results.
• Support manuscript and grant-writing efforts.
• Communicate with other RADC teams on related projects.
• Facilitate sharing of data and expertise with scientists within and outside of the RADC.Assist in the training and supervision of other staff in appropriate use of new techniques.
• Other duties as assigned.
