BCore in Herndon, VA is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Network Engineer to design, deploy, and manage enterprise firewall solutions. You will coordinate with cybersecurity and IT teams to ensure robust protections and trusted connectivity for mission-critical networks.

The role requires 16+ years in network engineering, a compatible degree, and strong communication skills to translate customer needs into secure, scalable architectures in a fast-paced government-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 16 years of network engineering experience.
• BS or MS degree in a related field preferred.
• Experience designing, implementing, and managing firewall policies and rules.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage firewall solutions using Cisco, Palo Alto devices.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot firewall policies and rules.
• Monitor network traffic for threats and address vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network security aligns with business goals.
• Translate customer requirements into enterprise network solutions and stays current with best practices.
