Job summary

The Nevada Department of Transportation is hiring for an IT Professional 4 - Network Administration in Carson City or Las Vegas. This role leads firewall design, policy administration, and security controls across on-premises, cloud, and secure access environments.

The incumbent coordinates with multiple teams and develops implementation plans, testing, and documentation to support reliable operations and change-management processes. On-site, no remote option.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS or closely related field and five years of professional IT experience relevant to duties.
• Two years at journey level in information security or supervisory/PM capacity; or equivalent.
• Experience in firewall design, administration and lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed analyses and determine end-user requirements through consultation with stakeholders.
• Maintain architecture/operational documentation for IT specialization.
• Stay current with tech trends and security management practices.
• Participate in resource allocation decisions, expenditure tracking, and writing technical requirements for grants.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
