Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. seeks an experienced Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer to oversee global data center operations, networks, and servers.

You will monitor, maintain, and optimize hardware and firmware across worldwide facilities, coordinating with on-site teams and NOC contacts to ensure uptime and reliability. You will deploy, upgrade, and decommission hardware, manage data center migrations, and ensure proper firmware, cabling, and documentation.

Qualifications

• 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree.
• NOC experience with hands-on hardware experience.
• Knowledge of computer hardware and networking equipment.
• Solid troubleshooting skills in a large-scale data center environment.
• Understanding of Linux system administration, server administration, and internals.
• Professional problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Our Network Infrastructure team is responsible for planning, deploying, and maintaining hardware. We work with on-site technicians, maintain equipment availability based on demand, manage inventory, and retire equipment. We look after hardware infrastructure management, including cabinet planning, equipment tracking, documentation, and firmware upgrades.

As a Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer, you will oversee operations in our global data centers. You will monitor and maintain our data centers, networks, and servers worldwide. You will also interact directly with data center Network Operations Centers via phone, email, and web portals.

As a Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Deploying and repairing servers, storage systems, routers, switches, and other hardware

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $105,400 - $189,600/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
