Job summary

Western Governors University is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to manage and maintain the network infrastructure for the Salt Lake City headquarters and associated services. The role will monitor network availability, performance, and security across LAN, WAN, firewall, and wireless environments.

Ideal candidates will have deep experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, and Arista infrastructure, along with hands-on expertise in load balancing, VPNs, and virtualization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field; equivalent experience accepted.
• 8 years of network administration experience.
• CCNA/CCNP certifications.
• Expertise with F5/BigIP and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Experience with VLANs, VPN, QoS, and WAN technologies.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support LAN and WAN network devices.
• Manage Internet access and security appliances.
• Support remote and wireless access.
• Test and evaluate network systems to eliminate problems and improve performance.
• Escalate network issues to vendors or internal staff.
• Plan and implement voice, data, and wireless infrastructure.
• Monitor and optimize network security and performance.
