Job summary

HRUCKUS is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer for an on-site assignment in Landover, MD to design, implement, and maintain enterprise networking for a large, worldwide environment.

The role requires TS SCI with Poly clearance, CCNA/CCNP preferred, and expertise with Cisco IOS-XE/NX-OS, Zabbix, Ansible, and scripting. You will develop automation, ensure DISA STIG compliance, and support Tier 2 operations.

Qualifications

Active TS SCI with Poly Security Clearance.
Current Security+ Certification.
8 years with BS/BA, or 6 years with MS/MA, or 12 years experience may be substituted in lieu of degree requirement.
Experience developing Zabbix templates for network monitoring.
Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco IOS-XE and NX-OS routers and switches.
Experience with EIGRP, BGP, and OSPF Protocols, including authentication and route distribution.
Experience with Cisco zone-based firewalls, ACLs, IPSEC tunnels, DMVPN and VLAN separation.
Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Expect) and Ansible playbooks.

Responsibilities

Plan the implementation of enhancements and upgrades to routers and switches for a large, worldwide enterprise network.
Design and plan changes to network communications systems as required.
Provide specifications and develop detailed schematics for network architecture.
Provide Tier 2 level support to Operations to troubleshoot and resolve enterprise networking outages or issues.
Conduct cost benefit analysis and provide detailed information to customer for hardware and software selection and deployment.
Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks, Unix shell scripts, and batch scripts for configuration and auditing of network routers and switches.
Configure and maintain tools for enterprise-wide network monitoring using SNMP/IPMI protocols.
Serve as local SME for network administration and monitoring tools such as Zabbix and TACACS+ server.
Track initiatives and tasks using Jira in an Agile Scrum team.
Configure and maintain DISA STIG compliance on Cisco devices.

Position Description

The Senior Network Engineer will provide Tier 2 troubleshooting, configure monitoring tools, maintain DISA STIG compliance on Cisco devices, and develop scripts for enterprise automation.

Position Responsibilities

Plan the implementation of enhancements and upgrades to routers and switches for a large, worldwide enterprise network.
Design and plan changes to network communications systems as required.
Provide specifications and develop detailed schematics for network architecture.
Provide Tier 2 level support to Operations to troubleshoot and resolve enterprise networking outages or technical issues.
Conduct cost benefit analysis and provide specific detailed information to the customer for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet program mission needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks, Unix shell scripts, and batch scripts for configuration and auditing of network routers and switches.
Configure and maintain tools for enterprise-wide network monitoring of VMs, switches, routers, and datacenter hardware using scripts and SNMP IPMI protocols.
Serve as local subject matter expert for network administration and monitoring tools, such as Zabbix and TACACS+ server.
Track initiatives and tasks using Jira as a contributor to an Agile Scrum team.
Configure and maintain DISA STIG compliance on Cisco router and switch network devices.
