Job summary

Spectrum is looking for a Network Engineer IV to plan, forecast, and implement complex network systems in Yorkwood, North Carolina. This role involves designing corporate network standards, leading projects, and mentoring junior engineers. Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and over 6 years of experience. The ideal candidate possesses strong data networking knowledge and is familiar with Cisco and Juniper certifications. The position requires the ability to work in a 24/7 network operations environment and may involve occasional travel.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of work experience in network engineering required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP and OSI Model.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, manage, and ensure stability of network infrastructure.
• Lead staff efforts—mentor and train engineering personnel.
• Troubleshoot and resolve major network and system issues.

Skills

Data networking knowledge (OSI Model, TCP/IP, Optical Transport)

Extensive knowledge of related industry specifications and standards

Extensive knowledge of network design, architecture, protocols, and topology

Ability to perform duties in a fast-paced team environment

Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
