Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of IT networking experience.
• Ability to assess, document, and understand existing network configurations.
• Experience with firewalls, switches, and Wi‑Fi solutions.
• Configuring and troubleshooting VPN connections.
• Understanding VLANs, STP, PoE, IP addressing, subnets, DHCP, DNS, OSPF, IDS/IPS, NAT, VoIP, and remote access.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain routing, switching, wireless, firewall, and VPN infrastructure across locations.
• Manage agency firewall environment, including policy updates and firmware maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and maintain VPN connectivity (site-to-site and remote access).
• Monitor network health across sites using the monitoring platform; respond to alerts and troubleshoot.
• Escalate networking issues beyond the Help Desk; address VoIP issues in a multi-carrier environment.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, systems, and cloud teams to remediate vulnerabilities on network equipment.
• Keep documentation up to date: configurations, diagrams, assets, and change records.
• Participate in infrastructure projects, disaster recovery testing, and long-term planning.
• Be a go-to networking resource and mentor for IT staff.
