Job summary

Proven IT is seeking a senior Project Engineer III (Networking) to assess, design, and deliver secure, reliable networks for diverse clients. The role emphasizes Meraki/Cisco, Ruckus, and HP stacks, with on-premises and cloud integration across Microsoft 365/Azure and hybrid infrastructure.

The engineer will own technical execution within SOWs, collaborate with PMs, Sales, and security teams, and mentor junior engineers while driving reusable solutions and standards across engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years IT experience with 5+ years in network engineering and project delivery.
• Experience with small/mid-sized businesses and larger customers with internal IT teams.

Responsibilities

• Assess environments, identify risks and capacity needs, and develop practical designs.
• Own technical workstreams from readiness through completion; define prerequisites, sequencing, and migration phases.
• Lead cross-vendor migrations, network rebuilds, equipment replacements, and firmware upgrades.
• Design internet, site-to-site VPN, SD-WAN, and cloud connectivity with redundancy and recovery.
• Implement firewall rules, VPN access, IDS/IPS, segmentation, and secure administration.
• Conduct RF/site surveys and capacity assessments for wireless optimization.
• Integrate networking with Windows Server, AD, DNS/DHCP, RADIUS, and Microsoft 365/Azure services.
• Use scripts and templates for repeatable provisioning, backups, and validation.
• Obtain peer reviews and perform pre/post-change tests for connectivity and security.
