Job summary

Millennium Space Systems, a Boeing Company, is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and optimize our critical network infrastructure at our El Segundo office. You will mentor junior engineers and drive secure, scalable networking across on‑prem and cloud environments.

The role requires DoD-style security clearances eligibility, experience with Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs, and multi‑vendor networks, and a collaborative, cross‑functional approach to risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 6+ years' of experience or an equivalent combination of education
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. citizenship
• Experience with multi-vendor switching and routing (e.g., Juniper, Cisco, Dell)
• Experience with Quality of Service (QOS), routing and switching protocols
• Experience with Palo Alto next generation firewall systems
• Experience deploying and maintaining VPN technologies (e.g., IPsec, SSL VPN, Azure ExpressRoute)
• Experience with Palo Alto Networks Panorama
• Active IAT Level 2 certifications per DoD Instruction 8570 (8140)
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher
• Experience with cloud networking environments (e.g., AWS, Azure)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. This pivotal role will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our organization's network infrastructure. The IT Network Engineer will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and ensure the security, reliability, and scalability of our network operations. This position requires a deep understanding of networking principles, hands-on experience with complex network environments, and strong problem-solving capabilities. Strong communication and organizational skills are critical to success in this position, along with the ability to build strong relationships, collaborate in a cross-functional environment, and utilize problem-solving skills to proactively identify and manage risks and opportunities. This position is onsite at our office in El Segundo, CA. This position’s internal job title is Network Design. Our team is currently hiring for level 5.

Position Responsibilities

• Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA) or higher
• Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA) or higher
