Google LLC in Reston, Virginia is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain large-scale networks for Infrastructure Control Network. The role emphasizes routing protocol expertise, multi-site planning, and proactive optimization of network performance.

You will contribute to software and tooling in C++, Go, or Python while collaborating with global teams. This position is based in Reston, VA with on-site requirements and weekend rotation obligations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience with network routing protocols, design and troubleshooting, with network equipment providers.
• Experience with planning and designing networks (e.g., multiple sites, multiple products, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Drive the quantifiable analysis of measurements, data, and capacity forecast models to make networks scalable and reliable.
• Evaluate inefficiencies, complexities, and flaws in network systems and propose designs, software, and processes to improve them.
• Develop software that improves performance, safety, transparency, and manageability of network systems.
• Participate in rotating schedules with other team members, including weekends.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $150000 - $217000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
