Job summary

MANDEX, Inc. is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for Europe to join our team based in Charleston, SC, responsible for senior-level LAN/WAN/WLAN network support, troubleshooting, documentation, network performance, and regional/enterprise technical leadership for Defense Health Agency (DHA) facilities in Europe.

You will perform advanced installation, configuration, documentation, management, and troubleshooting of network equipment, with expertise in Cisco, Windows networking, and tools like

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years related experience in networking or equivalent.
• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% and possess a valid passport.
• Experience with DoD Health Care Information Systems and DoD environments.

Responsibilities

• Identify, analyze, and resolve complex LAN, WLAN, and WAN issues.
• Install, configure, document, manage, and troubleshoot network equipment.
• Provide expert-level support for routed and switched LAN environments with Cisco tech.
• Support Windows-based network environments and use SolarWinds, ARMIS, and Ansible.
• Configure firewalls, VPNs, IDS, and monitor network performance and diagnostics.

Job description

MANDEX currently has a need for a Senior Network Engineer for Europe to join our Team based in Charleston, SC, in a role responsible for senior-level LAN/WLAN/WAN network support, troubleshooting, configuration management, documentation, network performance, and regional/enterprise technical leadership for Defense Health Agency (DHA) networked facilities in Europe.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Identify, analyze, and resolve complex LAN, WLAN, and WAN network issues.
• Perform advanced installation, configuration, documentation, management, and troubleshooting of network communication equipment.
• Demonstrate expert-level experience with routed, switched, and shared LAN environments.
• Possess advanced experience with Cisco networking technologies.
• Support and administer Windows-based network environments.
• Utilize and manage Orion SolarWinds, ARMIS, and Ansible.
• Configure and troubleshoot firewalls, VPN devices, and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).
• Perform network diagnostics, performance monitoring, and network administration using industry-standard tools.
• Demonstrate proficiency with networking protocols and technologies, including: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, Routing and switching, WAN connectivity, and IEEE 802.x standards.
• Possess experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) Health Care Information Systems.
• Experience with Zero Trust architectures and cybersecurity methodologies is highly desired.
• Coordinate effectively with Government, medical, technical, and contractor stakeholders.
• Support Defense Health Agency (DHA) regional network operations in a mission-focused environment.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Engineering, technical degree, or related discipline with at least five years of directly related experience; or successful completion of a certified Technical or Vocational School with 10 years of directly related experience gained through progressively higher levels of complexity.

Certification:

Security Level:

• Must possess and be able to maintain a security clearance.

Travel Requirements:

• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. Must have a valid passport and be willing to travel CONUS and OCONUS.
• Selected candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record in accordance with MANDEX policy.
