Family Dollar is seeking a senior Network Engineer III to lead design, deployment, and optimization of our enterprise network across corporate offices, data centers, and cloud environments. You will act as a Tier 3 escalation and drive scalable, secure networking initiatives.

The role emphasizes collaboration with security, cloud, and applications teams, with a focus on high availability, performance, and modernization, including SD-WAN and segmentation projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in network engineering.
• Experience with routing & switching, data center networking, WAN/SD-WAN, and network security.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise network solutions across LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and data center environments.
• Develop scalable architectures to support high availability, performance, and resiliency.
• Lead the deployment of routing, switching, and network security technologies.
• Serve as Tier 3 escalation for complex network incidents and outages.
• Perform deep packet and flow analysis and root cause investigations.
• Resolve issues related to routing, latency, connectivity, and network performance.
• Support operational teams with complex network troubleshooting.
• Participate in major incident response and post-incident reviews.
• Assist with capacity planning and performance optimization.
• Lead upgrades and modernization projects such as SD-WAN deployments, network segmentation, cloud network integration, data center upgrades.
• Maintain architecture diagrams and technical documentation; establish standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with security, cloud, and application teams to translate business requirements into scalable tech solutions.
• Maintain governance forums and runbooks.
• Identify opportunities to improve resiliency, performance, and automation.
