Job summary

Provident Bank is seeking a Senior Network Engineer in New Jersey to lead design, implementation, operation, and optimization of the enterprise network infrastructure across LAN, WAN, wireless, security, and cloud-connected environments.

You will collaborate with infrastructure, security, and vendors to support critical systems and strategic initiatives, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. The role requires strong communication and leadership in a fast-growing bank.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5–7 years of enterprise network engineering or infrastructure operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of enterprise networking concepts including routing, switching, wireless, QoS, and network security.
• Experience with software-defined networking and/or SD-WAN technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting using packet capture, monitoring, and diagnostics.
• Ability to design resilient, secure, and scalable network architectures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including executive-level reporting.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead technical initiatives with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and oversee installation and integration of network hardware and infrastructure.
• Operate, maintain, and enhance the enterprise LAN/WAN/WLAN environment; evaluate and implement new networking technologies.
• Engineer and support switching, routing, firewall, VPN, TCP/IP, VoIP, and network security solutions.
• Design and support high-bandwidth, low-latency network solutions for performance and scalability.
• Lead coordination with vendors, service providers, and internal stakeholders to deliver projects on schedule.
• Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, standards, and procedures.
• Provide technical reporting, capacity analysis, and risk assessments to senior management.
• Drive continuous improvement, automation, and standards development.
