Job summary

Fortanix is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and operate a secure, scalable network infrastructure supporting our global platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable connectivity across data centers and cloud environments, driving automation and operational excellence.

You will contribute to continuous improvement, maintain documentation, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure mission-critical network services remain available

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience designing and operating large-scale data center and cloud network infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of routing, switching, network security, load balancing, virtualization, and SDN.
• Automation-first mindset with scripting for provisioning, config, and operations.
• Hands-on Linux troubleshooting across network, OS, and apps.
• NFV experience and virtualized network environments.
• Juniper JunOS familiarity is highly desirable.
• Experience with network monitoring, observability, performance optimization, and incident response.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
• Proactive, ownership-driven, focused on automation and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Designing and evolving data center network architectures.
• Ensure reliability, performance, scalability, and security of production and development networks.
• Collaborate with Engineering, SaasOps, and Customer Success to deploy networking solutions across cloud environments.
• Manage, configure, and monitor network infrastructure and automate provisioning and operations.
• Participate in on-call rotation to ensure continuous availability of network services.
• Coordinate and execute data center visits for deployment and maintenance.
• Contribute to network standards and best practices through continuous improvement.
