Senior Network Engineer/Architect / Hybrid (2 days a week in the office) - New York City based position
Our client is a major financial services firm seeking a Senior Network Engineer/Architect to support and optimize their corporate network infrastructure. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining network solutions, collaborating with technical teams, and balancing strategic projects with operational support, troubleshooting, and security management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite network engineering and operational support.
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot network infrastructure and connectivity issues.
- Maintain and upgrade LAN/WAN equipment, routing, switching, and security configurations.
- Monitor network performance, respond to alerts, and resolve failures.
- Manage hardware upgrades, patching, and cabling requests.
- Maintain documentation and ensure security compliance.
What You Bring:
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering and architecture.
- Expertise in L3/L2 network design, routing, switching, and security protocols (BGP, OSPF, IPSEC, VPN, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto, and network monitoring tools (SolarWinds NPM, NCM).
- Strong knowledge of DNS, DHCP, NTP, DDI/IPAM, and firewalls.
- Experience with network performance tuning, application acceleration, and load balancing.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies like SDN, Private Cloud, and Network Virtualization is a plus.
