Job summary

A leading IT staffing firm located in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, is seeking a Tier 3 engineering support professional with over 10 years of experience in data center and WAN technologies. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in routing protocols like BGP and OSPF, and knowledge of Nexus platforms. Responsibilities include troubleshooting network performance issues and managing high-severity incidents. Candidates with CCNP or written CCIE are preferred but not mandatory. Qualifications

Job Description

Candidate must possess strong to advanced knowledge of routing / switching, carrier services and data center services. Candidate will primarily act in a Tier 3 engineering support role for the enterprise data network platforms performing various activities. Such activities include troubleshooting performance issues and performing break-fix network changes. This position calls for a candidate who will help execute against support strategies for data network platform requirements and deployments. The candidate should have experience with and a strong knowledge of Incident, Problem and Change management processes. Candidate will drive technical resolution of High-Severity & Low Severity Incidents. Candidate will provide direct support of Problem Management process, including Post-Mortem participation and presentations.
Candidate will help govern device remediation and Operational Resiliency activities. At time the candidate may manage the work of technical associates and Vendors.

Qualifications

• Must have 10 solid years of experience in the DC and WAN … ie BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VRF Nexus Platform (7K, 6K, 2K)
• Experience in a large infrastructure
• Must be solid in BGP, understanding and working experience with AS manipulation to direct traffic, solid in OSPF
• Solid experience in Nexus specifically VPC, VDC,
• Prefer CCIE written (not mandatory) or CCNP.
