Job summary

IPSecure is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support DoD environments in a TS/SCI cleared role, onsite in San Antonio, TX. The engineer will design, implement, and maintain complex networks using Cisco devices, CAS, and COTS lifecycle processes.

Prior DoD integration lab experience is highly valued, with strong emphasis on secure communications and large-scale infrastructure planning. The role requires extensive hands-on networking, routing, and switching expertise, familiarity with

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
  • 10+ years of network engineering experience in large system architectures.
  • Experience with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and related devices.
  • Familiarity with CAS tools and COTS lifecycle management in DoD environments.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, VPN, MPLS, BGP/OSPF.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and install network devices and services including routers, switches, IP addresses, VLANs, routing protocols, MPLS, VPN, and QoS.
  • Maintain LAN/WAN design and routing with ongoing upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot Cisco devices, SD-WAN, and network performance.
  • Monitor network health, performance, and capacity planning.
  • Collaborate with DoD and Air Force integration labs and vendors.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer with a deep understanding of large system architecture to support mission-critical operations. This position requires a technical expert with a proven background in operating system (OS), Cisco devices (Router, Firewall, Switch), Commercial Automation Software (CAS), and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) product lifecycles. Responsibilities
  • Configure and Install various network devices and services ( Routers, Switches, IP addresses, VLANs, routing protocols, MPLS, VPN, QOS)
  • Proven experience in a network administrator roles
  • Excellent knowledge and troubleshooting skills on SD WAN, LAN segmentation, Cisco Switches, Cisco Wireless Access Points, Cisco Wireless Controllers, Cisco Routers, and Riverbed Bandwidth Optimizers
  • Maintain design of LAN/WAN including protocols and routing
  • Proven hands-on experience in networking, routing, and switching
  • Solid understanding of network operating systems (Cisco IOS)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Deep understanding of Networking protocols ( IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF)
  • Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP Model
  • Hands-on experience with Monitoring network diagnostic and network analytics tools
  • Stay up to date with the latest networking technologies and best practices
  • Monitoring all active network equipment, ensuring seamless operations, system availability, and reliability
  • Responsibilities for a Network Engineer include but are not limited to: configuration and management of Cisco switches and routers, firewalls, and support to system administration team in deployment at new sites
  • Design, build, test, and troubleshoot a complex network
  • Troubleshooting and resolving network issues, implementing security measures, and proactively optimizing network performance
  • Performing network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches hot fixes, and security configurations
  • Configure and Install various network devices and services ( Routers, Switches, IP addresses, VLANs, routing protocols, MPLS, VPN, QOS)
  • Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
  • Engineer Level support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.( This includes diagnosing network problems, analyzing network logs, and implementing solutions and resolve network issues)
  • Work within established configuration and change Management policies
  • Assist in network design and implementation
  • Troubleshoot issues with Network Deployment
  • Identify potential failures and recommend solutions
  • Liaise with Vendors and other IT personnel for Problem resolution
  • Update knowledge base with known errors
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in network engineering and large system architecture.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • In-depth understanding of:
    • Operating Systems (e.g., Linux, Windows Server)
    • CAS tools and integration
    • COTS product evaluation, implementation, and lifecycle management
    • ServiceNow
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification, such as:
    • Security+ CE
    • CCNA, CCNA-Security
Preferred Qualifications
  • CCNP
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies, cloud platforms, and software-defined networking (SDN).
  • Experience working with government agencies or in classified environments.
