Job summary

Columbia Bank is seeking a Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our enterprise network infrastructure, including data center ACI, routers, switches, and firewalls. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, scalable connectivity and mentor junior engineers.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience with Cisco networks, ACI, SD-WAN, and data center gear, and will lead network design initiatives, testing, and operations in an onsite Irvine environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience supporting Cisco networks.
• Advanced experience with routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF) and network services (DHCP, DNS, VoIP, QoS).
• Advanced experience with SD-WAN solutions.
• Advanced experience with Meraki switches, APs and MX devices.
• Experience with datacenter gear (Cisco Nexus 7k/5k/2k/9k, ISR, ASR).
• Advanced testing tools and procedures for data networks.
• Advanced branch and datacenter router, switch, and firewall configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Proficient customer service and communication skills.
• Advanced experience with Cisco ACI and network automation/scripting.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage secure scalable network solutions with other teams.
• Manage and support enterprise network infrastructure including datacenter ACI switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Architect and manage datacenter/branch network infrastructure with drawings and diagrams from development to operation.
• Provide technical escalation and support for network technologies, software, systems and services.
• Mentor a team of Network Engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Design and manage Hybrid Cloud infrastructure and 3rd party connections.
• Lead cloud migration projects for smooth application transitions.
• Collaborate with IT and business teams to understand network requirements and provide solutions.
• Establish and manage vendor relationships and lifecycle support for enterprise network assets.
• Coordinate BCP testing of critical Network connectivity.

About the Role:The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s network infrastructure to ensure reliable, secure, and high-performing connectivity across the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of network architecture, protocols, security, and network design, along with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across a diverse technology environment.The Network Engineer will also support and enhance data center networking technologies, including Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI), and contribute to the ongoing evolution of the company’s network environment. This role works on problems of diverse scope, analyzing technical data, evaluating key factors, and applying sound judgment to develop effective solutions while staying current with emerging networking and data center technologies.Design, implement and manage secure scalable Network solutions with other teams to support new or updated technologies.Manage and support enterprise level network infrastructure, including datacenter ACI switches, routers, and firewalls.Architect and manage datacenter and/or branch overall network infrastructure including drawings and diagrams, ensuring the solutions are taken all the way through to operational status.Provide technical expertise and escalation for support of network technologies, software, systems, and servicesManage and establish version and configuration control of network devices.Direct and mentor a team of Network Engineers, providing technical guidance and support.Design and manage Hybrid Cloud infrastructure and 3rd party connections.Lead and participate in cloud migration projects ensuring a smooth transition of applications and services.Collaborate with IT and business teams to understand network requirements and provide solutions.Establish and manage strong vendor relationships.Provide complete lifecycle support for enterprise network assets.Coordinate BCP testing of critical Network connectivity.Ensure compliance with industry regulations by implementing best practices and staying informed about emerging threats.Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training.
