Job summary

Vast, headquartered in Long Beach, CA, seeks a Senior Network Automation Engineer to modernize our data center and campus networks. You will design vendor-agnostic automation for EVPN-VXLAN fabrics across Arista and Juniper, leveraging AI-assisted tooling to accelerate script creation, testing, and troubleshooting.

This full-time role reports to the Senior Manager, Network Infrastructure and requires 7–10 years in networking with at least 4+ years in NetDevOps.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of network engineering experience
• Deep expertise in EVPN-VXLAN design and fabric
• Programming in Python (Nornir/Asyncio) or Go for internal APIs
• Experience with Arista EOS and Juniper Junos programmatically
• Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, and GitOps workflows
• Experience with telemetry (gNMI/gRPC) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)

Responsibilities

• Architect multi-vendor fabric automation for EVPN-VXLAN
• Integrate AI engineering tools to accelerate automation workflows
• Maintain vendor-agnostic standards and data models (YAML/JSON/YANG)
• Own schema configurations for SSoT platforms (NetBox/Nautobot)
• Build continuous network CI/CD with validation and dry-run testing
• Provide leadership and governance on automation patterns
