Job summary

ManTech in Chantilly, VA seeks a Principal Network Engineer to design, implement, secure, and sustain complex enterprise networks. You will provide advanced engineering expertise across teams to deliver resilient, highly available, and secure network solutions for critical missions.

Responsibilities include prioritizing requirements, coordinating with customers, analyzing workflows, building highly available topologies, and providing Tier 2/3 support plus automation using scripting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• 5+ years of experience with network engineering.
• Knowledge of Windows and Linux systems, TCP/IP networking, and security concepts.
• Experience deploying, upgrading, and troubleshooting multi-vendor network equipment (Juniper, Palo Alto, F5).
• Experience scripting to support data flows.
• Ability to create and communicate IT documentation, especially network/security docs.
• IAT Level II (or higher) certification within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize technical and operational requirements based on project and mission needs.
• Coordinate with engineers, cross-functional teams, and customers to gather and deliver technical information.
• Analyze workflows and provide recommendations to improve efficiencies based on customer requirements.
• Work with engineering teams to troubleshoot and build complex, highly available network topologies.
• Provide engineering support and system administration for applications and systems, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and patching.
• Provide Tier 2/3 maintenance and engineering support for deployed network and cybersecurity technologies.
• Developing and implementing automation solutions for repetitive project tasks and metrics collection using scripting.
