Job summary

Viasat is seeking an experienced Network Architect in Carlsbad, CA to lead the design and architecture of government SATCOM orchestration and service delivery platforms for large-scale, multi-network environments.

You will work with Systems, Software, Cybersecurity, and Cloud engineers to deliver holistic networking solutions, mentor junior staff, and drive automation and scalable designs. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on networking experience; 2+ years in network architecture.
• bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; CCNP or higher cert.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain TS clearance.
• Experience with data center, service provider, and cloud networking.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, implementation, and sustainment of enterprise/backbone networks.
• Collaborate with Systems, Software, Cybersecurity, and Cloud teams to deliver solutions.
• Iterate network designs to meet evolving customer needs; mentor junior engineers.
• Evaluate vendors and apply automation to scale network operations.
