Job summary

SMS Data Products Group, Inc. in the DC Metro area seeks a Sr. Network Engineer to lead the modernization of base infrastructure for BIM networks, ensuring Air Force standards and SLAs are met. The role is hybrid with most work remote and occasional travel to the McLean, VA HQ and customer sites.

You will provide technical leadership for network design, address wired/wireless and security architectures, and develop DoDAF-compliant diagrams and documentation for government partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in network engineering, computer science, or related field.
• Active CCNP certification and CompTIA Security+ CE.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willing to travel approx. 25%.
• U.S. Citizenship required; DoD Secret clearance or eligible.
• ITIL Foundation 3+ certified preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of Base Area Network architectures for NIPR/SIPR meeting standards.
• Provide authoritative technical leadership for network design team.
• Develop enterprise architectures for wired/wireless, fiber, cabling, and security.
• Design topologies for performance, redundancy, and scalability.
• Create DoDAF diagrams and ensure government documentation is transferable.
