Job summary

The Bachrach Group is seeking a network architect for a Nassau County client project. This role will evaluate the existing network, design a solution, and participate in installing the new network.

This 2-3 week engagement involves planning LAN/WAN and wireless, and coordinating across North American sites to meet uptime, performance, and security goals. The candidate should bring 5+ years in infrastructure/network roles, CCNP or equivalent, and hands-on experience with Juniper, Palo Alto, Cisco

Qualifications

• 5+ yrs in infrastructure/network environments including design, implementation, administration and support.
• CCNP or equivalent certification.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP; Ethernet; VPN and firewall security.
• Experience with switches, firewalls, and wireless networking.
• Ability to plan, document, and troubleshoot complex network designs.

Responsibilities

• Guide and direct efforts for designing, installing and troubleshooting network systems.
• Evaluate and design network architecture, LAN/WAN/wireless solutions.
• Assess network risks and contingency planning.
• Design, configure and manage Juniper switches, Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco routers, wireless and microwave links.
• Plan network implementation across sites in North America and document layouts.
• Ensure uptime, performance, security, and adherence to budgets and guidelines.
