Job summary

Mercy is seeking an Associate Principal - Network Specialist to lead the planning, design, acquisition, and implementation of Mercy's voice and data networks in Saint Louis. You will evaluate business requirements, perform project planning, and conduct cost analyses while comparing vendors to deliver robust networking solutions.

On-site role requiring extensive Cisco networking expertise, ACI, and network automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Extensive experience with Cisco networking, LAN/WAN, wireless, VoIP, and advanced routing protocols.
• Proficiency in network automation with Python, Ansible, REST API, or Postman.
• Monitoring/telemetry in Cisco ACI (NAE, SNMP, NetFlow, Syslog).
• Change control, patching, and lifecycle management of Cisco ACI environments.
• Strong understanding of Layer 2/3 network protocols (BGP, OSPF, STP, HSRP).
• Familiarity with Cisco DNA Center, Secure Workload (Tetration), or other Cisco DC tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to document designs and policies.
• Experience in regulated or healthcare environments preferred.
• Advanced certifications such as CCNP, CCIE or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, acquisition, and implementation of Mercy's voice and data network services.
• Evaluate business requirements to develop robust networking solutions.
• Conduct comprehensive project planning and cost analyses; vendor comparisons.
• Manage infrastructure to ensure high availability, recoverability, performance, and integrity.
• Maintain existing systems and implement network enhancements; ensure security and reliability.
