Job summary

State of South Carolina seeks a Senior Network Administrator to oversee and advance the statewide enterprise network infrastructure. You will lead design, implementation, security, and resilience initiatives across DSS’s operations, coordinating with agencies, vendors, and staff to maintain reliable services statewide.

You will analyze performance, forecast needs, and guide infrastructure planning while ensuring compliance with state security requirements and safeguarding PII.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in information technology systems, computer science, or related field; educational credentials may be substituted year-for-year.
• Experience in information technology systems or related area required.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to lift 15–20 lbs.
• May require after-hours work and overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight for DSS’s statewide enterprise network infrastructure.
• Plan, design, implement, maintain, and optimize LAN/WAN and wireless networks.
• Ensure security controls, continuity, and reliability of network services.
• Lead statewide network infrastructure projects and coordinate with vendors and staff.
• Develop network diagrams, documentation, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Ensure compliance with state security requirements and protection of PII.
