Job summary

Goosehead Insurance seeks an experienced Senior Network Administrator to design, optimize, and secure its enterprise network across on-prem and cloud environments. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, Network Engineering, or related field required.
  • 5+ years of experience managing networks and systems in mid-to-large enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience with Cisco Meraki and Azure networking.
  • Strong background in Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization.
  • Experience supporting cloud and on-prem identity/device management (Entra ID, Intune).
  • Familiarity with VoIP and UC platforms: Zoom, Vonage, WebRTC, IVR.
  • Preferred Industry Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, Azure Administrator, Network+, Security+, or NCP.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, deploy, and maintain enterprise LAN/WAN environments using Fortinet, Cisco Meraki, and Juniper platforms.
  • Lead network implementations, upgrades, and migrations with minimal downtime.
  • Identify and remediate network issues through root-cause analysis and performance tuning.
  • Design and manage SD-WAN, high-availability firewall clusters, VLAN segmentation, and secure network zoning.
  • Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols including BGP and OSPF.
  • Implement and maintain IPSec and SSL VPNs, site-to-site tunnels, and remote access solutions.
  • Administer and secure Azure network connectivity, including VPN gateways, VNETs, and NSGs.
  • Develop, audit, and enforce next-gen firewall policies and threat protection controls.
  • Monitor VoIP systems, QoS, and performance metrics for quality and reliability.
  • Produce KPI reports on uptime, security posture, capacity, and voice quality.
  • Maintain documentation and lead infrastructure initiatives with secure, compliant operations.

Job Summary

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Network Administrator to lead the design, optimization, configuration, and security of Goosehead’s enterprise network infrastructure. You’ll build resilient, scalable networks across on-prem and cloud environments (Meraki, Azure), while ensuring high availability and compliance.

This role owns core responsibilities including firewall and SD-WAN management (Fortinet, Cisco Meraki, Juniper), Azure network connectivity, VoIP monitoring, advanced routing, and high-availability configurations. The ideal candidate blends hands-on expertise in Windows, linux, and unified communications with strategic leadership in areas like identity management (Intune, Entra ID), future-state planning (ZTNA, hybrid cloud), and infrastructure documentation. You’ll mentor junior IT staff, drive automation, and play a key role in business continuity, disaster recovery, and transformation efforts.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Architect, deploy, and maintain enterprise LAN/WAN environments utilizing Fortinet (FortiGate/FortiManager), Cisco Meraki (MX/MS/MR), and Juniper (SRX/EX) platforms
  • Lead network implementations, upgrades, and migrations, ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to change management processes
  • Identify, remediate, and proactively eliminate network problem areas through root cause analysis and performance tuning
  • Design and manage SD-WAN, high-availability (HA) firewall clusters, VLAN segmentation, and secure network zoning
  • Configure and troubleshoot advanced routing protocols including BGP and OSPF
  • Implement and maintain IPSec and SSL VPNs, site-to-site tunnels, and remote access solutions
  • Administer and secure Azure network connectivity, including VPN gateways, virtual networks, and network security groups (NSGs)
  • Develop, audit, and enforce next-generation firewall policies, IDS/IPS, and threat protection controls
  • Monitor and support VoIP systems, including SIP trunks, QoS configuration, and performance metrics (latency, jitter, packet loss, MOS), ensuring high call quality and reliability
  • Perform packet-level analysis and advanced troubleshooting to resolve complex network and voice issues
  • Maintain detailed network documentation, topology diagrams, standard operating procedures, and configuration backups
  • Produce KPI and performance reports covering uptime, security posture, capacity, and voice quality metrics
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced hands-on expertise, strong documentation discipline, and the ability to lead infrastructure initiatives while maintaining a secure, highly available, and performance-optimized network environment.
Experience and Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field (required).
  • 5+ years of experience managing networks and systems in mid-to-large enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience with Cisco Meraki and Azure networking.
  • Strong background in Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization.
  • Experience supporting cloud and on-prem identity/device management (Entra ID, Intune).
  • Familiarity with VoIP and UC platforms: Zoom, Vonage, WebRTC, IVR.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate and present KPI/performance metrics.
  • Experience contributing to disaster recovery and cloud transformation initiatives.
  • Preferred Industry Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, Azure Administrator, Network+, Security+, or Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP).
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, VPNs, VLANs, wireless, and firewalls.
  • Architect and document current and future network designs, ensuring scalability, redundancy, and security.
  • Administer and optimize Cisco Meraki networking hardware (MX, MS, MR series).
  • Ability to automate or script (PowerShell, CLI) is a plus.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Proactive, self-directed, and able to manage competing priorities in high-stakes environments.
  • Strong understanding of compliance and risk mitigation best practices.
  • Produce, analyze, and present weekly KPI reports related to network health, uptime, and system performance.
  • Lead incident response for network outages, security breaches, and system failures.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for system upgrades, licensing, and escalations
