Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) invites applications for a Senior Network Administrator to advance Army enterprise networks. You will ensure stability and security across GMT environments, performing advanced administration and 24/7 support to mission-critical systems.

The role requires 5+ years of related experience, a Top Secret/SCI clearance (or TS with SCI eligibility), and hybrid on-site/remote work from Ft Huachuca, AZ.

Qualifications

• Hybrid work location: 1 day a week at Ft Huachuca, Sierra Vista, AZ; 4 days remote
• Experience with enterprise routing and switching (OSPF, BGP, VRRP/HSRP)
• Working knowledge of DISA STIGs, RMF, ACAS, and Army cybersecurity compliance
• DoW 8140 certification such as Security+, CASP, or SecurityX, or CCNA
• Networking certification such as JNCIS, JNCIA, JNCIS-ENT, JNCIP, or CCNP required

Responsibilities

• Act as Alternate Network Team Lead
• Ensure stability, security, and efficient operation of Army enterprise network environments within the NETCOM GMT
• Provide advanced administration, monitoring, configuration, and troubleshooting of critical network infrastructure for Army Enterprise Network and JRSS
• Operate effectively in a 24/7/365 mission environment
• Lead high-impact incident response and coordinate restoration efforts
• Maintain and secure boundary protection systems per DoW and Army cybersecurity standards
• Collaborate with mission partners including DISA, RCCs, and RNECs/NECs
• Manage routers, firewalls, load balancers, and related network services
• Contribute to automation improvements to enhance operational efficiency
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and ensure compliance with security mandates
• Mentor junior network admins
• Participate in engineering initiatives and enterprise planning sessions

• Act as Alternate Network Team Lead

• Provide advanced administration, monitoring, configuration, and troubleshooting of critical network infrastructure for the Army Enterprise Network and JRSS environments.

• Lead high‑impact incident response activities and coordinate restoration efforts.

• Collaborate with mission partners including DISA, RCCs, and RNECs/NECs.
• Manage routers, firewalls, load balancers, and related network services.

• Apply deep technical knowledge and strong diagnostic skills to support mission‑critical systems.
• Mentor junior network administrators and support their technical development.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

• Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree
• Experience: 5+ years of related experience
• Hybrid Work Location: 1 day a week at Ft Huachuca, Sierra Vista, AZ. 4 days remote.
• Technical skills:
  • Experience supporting DoWIN‑Army or DoW enterprise networking environments
  • Mastery of enterprise routing and switching (OSPF, BGP, VRRP/HSRP)
  • Strong experience with Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, or other Army‑utilized platforms
  • Working knowledge of DISA STIGs, RMF, ACAS, and Army cybersecurity compliance
  • DoW 8140 certification, such as; Security+, CASP, or SecurityX, or CCNA
  • Networking certification such as; JNCIS, JNCIA, JNCIS-ENT, JNCIP, or CCNP required.
• Security clearance level: Top Secret/SCI (or TS with the ability to obtain SCI)
• Role requirements:
  • Ability to support global maintenance windows and after‑hours operational needs
  • Ability to work onsite or hybrid depending on mission requirements
  • Capability to operate effectively in a 24/7 mission‑critical environment
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and analytical skills

The likely salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
