Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology seeks a Network Administrator Senior to advance Army enterprise networks, providing advanced routing, switching, security, and incident response across GMT environments. You will mentor junior staff and collaborate with DISA and other partners in a 24/7 mission context.

The role requires 5+ years of related experience, DoW 8140 certifications or equivalent, and a hybrid work arrangement with Ft Huachuca, AZ.

Qualifications

• Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree.
• Experience: 5+ years of related experience.
• Hybrid Work Location: 1 day a week at Ft Huachuca, AZ; 4 days remote.
• Strong experience with enterprise routing and switching (OSPF, BGP, VRRP/HSRP).
• Working knowledge of DISA STIGs, RMF, ACAS, and Army cybersecurity compliance.

Responsibilities

• Act as Alternate Network Team Lead.
• Ensure stability, security, and efficient operation of Army enterprise network environments.
• Provide advanced administration, monitoring, configuration, and troubleshooting of critical network infrastructure.
• Operate effectively within a high-tempo 24/7/365 mission environment.
• Lead high-impact incident response activities and coordinate restoration efforts.
• Maintain and secure boundary protection systems per DoW and Army standards.
• Collaborate with mission partners (DISA, RCCs, RNECs/NECs).
• Manage routers, firewalls, load balancers, and related network services.
• Contribute to automation improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and ensure compliance with enterprise security mandates.
• Apply deep technical knowledge and strong diagnostic skills to support mission-critical systems.
• Mentor junior network administrators and support their development.

• Act as Alternate Network Team Lead
• Ensure stability, security, and efficient operation of Army enterprise network environments within the NETCOM Global Management Team (GMT).
• Provide advanced administration, monitoring, configuration, and troubleshooting of critical network infrastructure for the Army Enterprise Network and JRSS environments.
• Operate effectively within a high-tempo 24/7/365 mission environment, supporting continuous operations.
• Lead high-impact incident response activities and coordinate restoration efforts.

• Collaborate with mission partners including DISA, RCCs, and RNECs/NECs.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

• Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree
• Experience: 5+ years of related experience
• Hybrid Work Location: 1 day a week at Ft Huachuca, Sierra Vista, AZ. 4 days remote.
• Technical skills:
  • Experience supporting DoWIN-Army or DoW enterprise networking environments
  • Mastery of enterprise routing and switching (OSPF, BGP, VRRP/HSRP)
  • Strong experience with Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, or other Army-utilized platforms
  • Working knowledge of DISA STIGs, RMF, ACAS, and Army cybersecurity compliance
  • DoW 8140 certification, such as Security+, CASP, or SecurityX, or CCNA
  • Networking certification such as JNCIS, JNCIA, JNCIS-ENT, JNCIP, or CCNP required.
• Security clearance level: Top Secret/SCI (or TS with the ability to obtain SCI)
• Role requirements:
  • Ability to support global maintenance windows and after-hours operational needs
  • Ability to work onsite or hybrid depending on mission requirements
  • Capability to operate effectively in a 24/7 mission-critical environment
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and analytical skills
