Job summary

Candescent, a U.S.-based financial technology company powering Intelligent Banking, seeks a senior software engineer to craft high-quality software components and lead AI-enhanced development efforts. You will leverage Copilot, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and similar GenAI IDE assistants to accelerate coding, testing, and documentation.

Responsibilities include diagnosing failures, conducting AI-assisted code reviews, mentoring peers, and advancing engineering practices across the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 6 to 9 years of software design and development experience.
• 6+ years with Microsoft Full stack: .NET 8+, C#, Angular, HTML/JS/TS.
• API design with REST & SOAP; deployment in Kubernetes.
• Strong debugging, testing, and code quality practices.
• Excellent communication and teamwork; Agile experience.
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants and GenAI tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality, maintainable, and reusable software components.
• Leverage AI-powered development tools to accelerate coding, refactoring, and test generation.
• Diagnose, isolate, and resolve system failures from defects in design or implementation.
• Apply AI-assisted code reviews, static analysis, and automated quality checks.
• Identify and implement improvements in engineering practices and AI-driven workflows.
• Contribute to technical documentation, developer guides, and customer-facing materials.
• Design, write, and execute unit, integration, and automated tests.
• Analyze and implement mechanisms to improve code stability, performance, and security.
• Participate in and lead code reviews, mentoring peers on AI coding assistants.
• Create high-fidelity estimates for work items and assist with sprint planning.
• May lead, mentor, and advise other engineering resources; act as SME in MS-based systems.
• Stay current with AI, software engineering, and cloud-native trends.
• Collaborate with Solution Management, Product, Security, and Platform teams.
