Job summary

Midcontinent Independent System Operator Inc. (MISO) seeks a Senior Reliability Coordinator—NERC Certified System Operator (NCSO) to monitor real-time grid reliability and resolve transmission congestion 24x7, ensuring safe operation of the Bulk Electric System.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, math, economics, or related field or 4+ years of relevant experience; a current NERC/RC Certification or ability to obtain; and at least five years in electrical engineering,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, economics, business, or related field, or 4+ years of relevant work experience.
• Successful Oral Board and Simulation Certification for assigned desk or post-hire completion.
• Current NERC/RC Certification or ability to obtain prior to operating assigned desk.
• At least five years of work experience in electrical engineering, generation dispatch, transmission operations, merchant operations, generation planning, or power accounting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and support 24x7 reliability of the Bulk Electric System.
• Analyze data and models to identify risks and mitigate potential issues.
• Resolve transmission congestion to maintain reliable interconnection operation.
• Contribute input on process improvement initiatives.
