Job summary

Trinity Industries, Inc. in Saginaw, TX, is hiring a Senior NDT Quality Inspector for our railcar maintenance/repair facility.

You will set up NDT equipment, interpret results to ASME/AWS standards, and train NDT staff to uphold quality in manufacturing and maintenance tasks. The role requires a Level II UT certification, several NDT qualifications are a plus, and the ability to work with blueprints, gauges, and test equipment safely.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of experience.
• Current Ultrasonic Testing Level II certification.
• NDT certifications such as PT, VT, and RVI are a plus.
• Willingness to obtain Level II certifications per Trinity Rail practice.
• Experience in quality control/assurance in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Set up and standardize NDT equipment and interpret results per codes and specifications.
• Instruct employees on railcar maintenance using NDT procedures.
• Provide on-the-job NDT training and guidance to trainees and Level I personnel.
• Demonstrate knowledge of UT shear wave inspection of welds to ASME/AWS codes.
• Inspect railcar qualifications, repairs, and coatings to ensure FRA, AAR, and customer compliance.
• Read drawings and use railroad gauges and test equipment to verify specifications.
• Follow safety rules and participate in safety initiatives.
