About The Role
Senior NDE Level II Technician

Castelion is moving incredibly fast to develop and deliver advanced defense systems at a time when execution matters more than ever. We believe focus and technical excellence are decisive advantages - and we are building a team that can deliver real capability, not just concepts.

This is a rare opportunity to join at an early stage, where your work will directly shape critical systems, influence major technical decisions, and have immediate, real-world impact.

Castelion is seeking a Senior NDE Level II Technician to support the inspection, manufacturing, and quality assurance of solid rocket motor systems used in the development of long-range hypersonic strike vehicles. This is a full-time position located at our Torrance, CA facility.

The position will have a strong focus on Digital Radiography (DR), Computed Tomography (CT), Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT), Magnetic Particle (MT), and Visual Testing (VT)/Weld Inspection, ensuring components and welded assemblies meet applicable engineering drawings, specifications, approved inspection procedures, and acceptance criteria.

You will perform in-process and final inspections, interpret and evaluate inspection results within Level II certification authority, accurately document findings, and identify nonconforming conditions that could affect product integrity or performance. You will also collaborate with NDE Level III personnel and engineering teams to resolve technical inspection issues, support corrective actions, and continuously improve inspection and manufacturing processes.

This role is critical to ensuring the quality, reliability, and integrity of flight‑critical hardware while supporting Castelion's fast‑paced development and production environment.

  • Perform Digital Radiography (DR), Computed Tomography (CT), Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT), Magnetic Particle (MT), and Visual Testing (VT)/Weld Inspection on aerospace components, assemblies, and fabricated hardware in accordance with approved NDE procedures and applicable requirements.
  • Inspect welds for size, profile, contour, alignment, surface condition, workmanship, and visible discontinuities.
  • Interpret and evaluate inspection results in accordance with applicable engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, and acceptance/rejection criteria.
  • Read and interpret drawing weld symbols, manufacturing instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Set up, standardize, verify, and operate applicable NDE and inspection equipment within the scope of Level II qualification.
  • Utilize weld gauges, borescopes, magnification equipment, precision measurement tools, and other inspection equipment as required.
  • Accurately document inspection results and maintain required inspection records, traceability, and quality documentation.
