Job summary

Relativity Space in Cape Canaveral, Florida, is seeking a skilled NDE technician for the NDE Team. You’ll work with ET inspections, develop feasibility studies, and ensure quality across complex parts for aerospace manufacturing.

The role requires NDE Level II in Eddy Current, ability to read engineering drawings, strong MS Office skills, and willingness to travel 10–25%. On-site work with background clearance will be arranged.

Qualifications

  • NDE Level II certification in ET with NAS 410 or SNT-TC-1A records.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering work instructions and drawings.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Willingness to travel 10–25%.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute feasibility studies, PODs, and qualification plans with ET specialists.
  • Perform ET/ECA NDE inspections using advanced techniques.
  • Evaluate digital ET/ECA data files for quality and maintain detailed documentation.

About the Team:

The Relativity Space NDE Team is dedicated to the integrity of our product while tackling the challenges of our novel manufacturing methods. We are tasked with developing and executing inspection of a huge variety of materials and components using cutting-edge industry technology. From crafting in-house processes and procedures that adhere to industry standards, to executing inspection operations, our team maintains a steadfast commitment to accuracy and reliability.

About the Role:
  • Work closely with ET Specialist inspectors and NDE Engineers to develop and execute feasibility studies, POD’s, and qualification plans.
  • Perform ET/ECA NDE inspections using novel and advanced techniques.
  • Evaluate digital ET/ECA data files for quality and accept/reject criteria Detailed and comprehensive documentation/reporting of eddy current analysis results.
  • Interface with outside stakeholders regarding inspection results and future possibilities.
  • Develop and publish part-specific NDE techniques for a variety of complex parts.
  • Work with vendors to troubleshoot and maintain equipment.
  • In depth comprehension and effective application of relevant NDE inspection plans, procedures, and techniques.
About You:
  • NDE Level II Certification in Eddy Current (ET) inspection Proof of NDE Classroom Training and Certificates as well as previous certifications per NAS 410 or SNT-TC-1A (be prepared to provide these records prior to onsite interview)
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering work instructions and drawings
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs unassisted, stand for extended period of time.
  • Open to travel (10% - 25%)
Nice to haves but not required:
  • Experience with Eddy Current Array inspection, evaluating ET/ECA data generated in Eddyfi Magnifi software or equivalent platform
  • NDE Level 2 Certification in ultrasonics (UTT/UTSW/PAUT), dye penetrant (PT), visual inspection (VT,CWI)
  • Experience with Alternating Current Field Measurement (ACFM) Inspections
  • Knowledge of industry standards (NASA, AMS, AWS/ASME, ASTM, etc.)
  • Experience with CAD
  • Experience with QA/QC and/or Lean Manufacturing concepts and applications

Successful candidates must clear a background check administered by the US government to obtain clearance for on-site work at our government partner location in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
