Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Navigation Engineer for the GNC and Avionics team in Colorado. You will design and implement advanced navigation algorithms, focusing on Kalman filters for INS, and lead the integration with the broader architecture.

You will model inertial sensors and GPS, develop test plans for simulation and hardware-in-the-loop, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with cross-functional teams. A TS clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5-10 years of experience in navigation systems analysis, design, and testing.
• Expertise in designing and implementing Kalman filters for INS.
• Strong understanding of inertial sensors and GPS.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink.
• Programming skills in C++ or Python.
• Experience leading technical projects and mentoring engineers.
• U.S. citizen/national or eligible for security clearance.
• Top Secret security clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement advanced navigation and estimation algorithms with Kalman filters for INS.
• Model and simulate inertial sensors and GPS receivers to analyze navigation performance.
• Lead integration of navigation components into GNC/avionics architecture.
• Develop and execute test plans for simulation and hardware-in-the-loop validation.
• Analyze sensor data to calibrate IMUs and navigation sensors.
• Troubleshoot navigation-related issues during testing and operations.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and systems teams to deliver integrated solutions.
