Job summary

Tideman Marine Services is seeking an experienced Naval Architect / Marine Engineer in Texas to perform naval architecture and marine engineering for a variety of vessels including tugboats, passenger vessels, and fishing vessels. The role requires collaboration with customers, shipyards, and owners in the Houston/Galveston area.

Candidates should have 5–10 years of relevant experience, a degree in Naval Architecture or related field, and be ready to travel to shipyards and project sites as

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Maritime Systems, Marine Engineering
• 5–10 years of naval architecture or marine engineering experience
• Experience designing aluminum and steel vessels
• Experience with U.S. Coast Guard regulations and classification society rules (ABS, DNV)
• U.S. citizenship required

Responsibilities

• Perform stability analyses and stability tests
• Develop structural and scantling calculations for vessels
• Review and approve engineering drawings and vessel designs
• Lead engineering projects from concept to completion
• Coordinate with customers, shipyards and stakeholders
• Travel to shipyards and customer locations as required
